"Vertebra: Time Wave Zero", Dave Haslett
Vertebra: Time Wave Zero was brought to the Salem Convention Center in 2011 for inclusion in the Sculpture Now! Exhibition, the 5th in a series of Mayor’s annual shows. It was purchased by SCC for $9,500 in 2012.
Dave Haslett works in stone, bronze, oil paint, and is a prolific drawer. He’s also worked as a licensed general contractor since 1989, drawing plans and performing custom remodeling. Born and raised in the Pacific NW, he’s the first male in his family to not work in the woods.
He graduated from Portland State University, studying sculpture under James Lee Hansen, Keith Jellum, Don Wilson and Mel Katz. Haslett is also an active member of the Northwest Stone Sculptors Association. His work is sited in sculpture parks in Eastsound, Washington, Roche Harbor, Washington, Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Ketchum, Idaho.
